Baz-ball

There's an old Abbot and Costello sketch where they walk into a sporting goods store. They meet an Asian woman they know who calls it Baz-ball. But what's funnier is what occurs after. They meet the store Clerk.

"I'm looking for a bat" says Costello.

"Well, here's a fine one" shows the clerk. "This bat was made for Slaughter."

"Haven't you got one that was made for baseball?"

"Slaughter is the man's last name."

"What's his first name?"

"Enos"

"Well there's a clever guy.... He knows his first name."

"Everybody knows Slaughter. Enos Slaughter?"

"Well, maybe he knows Slaughter but I don't know him."

"How bout this glove? This glove was made for Fella of the Cleveland Indians."

"There are 9 guys on the Indians team which fella are you talking about?"

Ah, Abbot and Costello. He played for the Cardinals incidentally.

And speaking of the Cardinals they trounced, SEVERELY, the Cubs today. 12-4. SAUCE you just keep it shut.

At anyrate, Cubs need a break. Just little time to mend some injuires. My only hope is that come Post All-Star break the Cubs will all be healthy having had their little rest and kick everyone's fatigued ass.
