Relating to, situated in, or affecting the viscera.
Perceived in or as if in the viscera; profound: “The scientific approach to life is not really appropriate to states of visceral anguish” (Anthony Burgess).
Instinctive: visceral needs.
viscera
The soft internal organs of the body, especially those contained within the abdominal and thoracic cavities.
Interesting. Especially considering how people use this word now. Like a visceral reaction. Well that's what I like.
I love roller coasters. I like speed and losing my stomach on the giant drop. This is probably why I'm going to be foolish enough to jump out of a plane for my 31st birthday. My friend, Cecil, was in the military he has 46 jumps under his belt. I have 4 other members of the Austin chapter of T.U.F.F. who want to go with... so we are.
At anyrate I was thinking of this today as I was listening to Jim Rome on the way back from work. He was talking about de le Hoya moving from a lightweight to a middle weight so that he can earn a whole other title. And this got me thinking about boxin and how I really can't stand to watch boxing. Two guys beating the living crap out of each other.
It's like watching hockey on TV. Skating for hours around a rink slapping a urinal cake around. Then I got tickets to a game. 4th row behind the glass. It was a whole new game watching people slam into the glass and the puck flying a crazy speeds around the ice. It was undescribable. It was exciting. It was well... visceral.
So I can imagine boxing being the same thing. So in three years when I'm rich, maybe I'll take in a match at the MGM and watch two guys pound the crap out of each other live and really see what I've been missing.
More on this next week.
But now a moment of zen. I need more cowbell!

I sat and watched that applet for like 3 minutes before I realized, "Hey I've been watching this applet for like 3 minutes".
