Election Day

Well here we are the day we decide who will be running the country for the next 4 years. I don't get to vote this year... something about moving I never took care of. It's kinda just as well. This is wholly inappropriate to say I know... but I'm okay with it. Here's why.

I voted last time... and the time before. These Presidential elections are important... not the smaller one's aren't but you know the big office is the most important. And uh, I can't make a decision this year around.

I'm going to upset some of my more libral democrat friends by this next bit but... oh well, it's politics. If there's one thing you learn is that you can't please everyone. But in all my research about where I stand onTHE ISSUES it seems that I'm a conservative democrat. Not a libral republican, mind you, there's a vast difference just a conservative democrat.

But I'm for Bush's "war" on terror. And I'm FOR Kerry's stance on the other issues that make me a democrat. Not all democratic issues just lots of them. Like health care, I have crappy insurance. Real crappy. It's all I can afford. Wouldn't mind some help in that area. Education, there are Ideas that both have that I think are silly. And that's my point, both will do stuff I like, and both will do stuff I hate. Where do you put your allegiance then?

I know it's my right and I should vote, but either way I'll be betraying some value I think is right. These 2 candidates are so fundementally opposed to each other in that's it hard for people like me to choose one.

So I'm not voting. And I'm not proud but I just thought I'd explain why.

In other news winter is beginning in Texas. The high today is 63. All over the news they're telling everyone to pull out their coats. Babies.

In the spring in Missouri, 63 degrees is when we wear shorts for the first time.

Anyway, good luck in your votes, I know my brother and sister will cancel each other out as will Ryan's parents. I know Aj's vote and Greg and Monica's. Followed by my general manager's vote, who's been wearing a "W" on his lapel since July. Followed by two other people I know who are voting "W" in my small polling sample it's well neck and neck.

So good luck to whoever. It's my day off so I'll be watching with peaked interest who wins.
