Don't worry, it's a worlwide release, AJ so you should see it then as well. Course, before me. Technically. Bastard.

Baseball Bonus

Well, not only were the Cardinals SWEPT.... but the Sox one 7 games in a ROW! Unprecendented.

Shilling is the man.

THE MAN.

Now that Boston has broken the curse my hope is that it will give the Cubs the confidence the Break theirs. It's only a goat for god sakes. Course I guess it took the Sox a Lunar Eclipse to do it... but hey whatver. I'll sacrifice a goat if I gotta to get the Cubs to the series.

And there's a rumoring running around that the Cubs want Beltran? Well who doesn't. I'm the Yankees will try too and throw money as if that help. "Here's a bunch of cash, it must fix the problem." But seriously if the Cubs, who are losing Alou, pick up Beltran how f@#*ing cool would that be. Talk about a dynamic outfield. Geez. Hopefully Ramirez will be back at third, and possibly Nomar too.

Oh and HOT SAUCE... I've tried sending to letters to your new e-mail address and they've both been sent back.... to email me on your new account.

In other news.... RYan and I have finally begun working on our script called the Body. Knowing me that won't be our final title, but it works for now. It's not a horror flick. But there are some nice plot twists... so we're taking on a new adventure in writing.

What else?

Oh girls are being girls at work. Power struggles....who's friends with who.... blah blah blah. I really hope I have real life by next summer. When your 30 and watching 19 girls squabble and being petty.... it's pretty ridiculous. Oh and they call me. I just tell them to get over it and not worry about cause you know in two weeks you'll all be friend's anyway. Or not. That's life. There are some people in your life ... you'll just never see again.

*shrug*

And then I come across all wise. Which makes me feel old. I enjoyed being 25 and wise. But now I'm actually THAT old.

*shiver*

With Halloween on the horizon... I've got the perfect costume too.... I thought you might wanna take a trip in today's moment of ZEN.

The GRUDGE

Eeeeee. Saw the Grudge.... not only is it damn creepy but so much stuff jumps out at you... your bouncing all over your seat.

Nothing like a good scary movie. I used to hate them... but I told you that. now nothing like a good scare. Saw two previews of two more scary ass flicks on the horizon.... Saw which looks both psychologically and suspenfully messed up. And the other was Boogeyman. I know I heard the name too, and was like... Really? But it looks good in that creepy my whole life is messed up and the only way to fix it is by confronting the inner demons kina way.

In other news.... I'm 5-2 in one of my fantasy leagues... do mostly in part to a man named Brett Favre. I also have Ladainian TOmlinson and New Englad's DEFENSE to thank for it.

The league that really matters with Aj and his friends.... is not so good. I'm down 7 points this week thanks to a no-show by Tory Holt who didn't do jack this week. I coulda put in Kayshawn and used his 9 points.... I would OWN this week. But now I need Denver's TE to pull out a miracle.... like a TD and some yards.

But boy, if I lose... talk about a grudge.

Sorry.

Day of Good News

Day off last night so Ryan and I sat and watched Game 6. I'm voting for the Red Sox all the way. Being a Cubs fan as far as I'm concerned the Astros and Cardinals can suck it. :) So I was pretty sure early in the week that my Baseball season was over. I'm usually a part-time Cardinal fan (despite the rivalry) but this year they just seem so smug about it all. "We knew we were this good." Whatever.

But a 15 inning game on Monday? And the Sox pull it out? No way! And last night Schilling was a god. I've always liked Schilling. He's one of the most down to earth guys. He was Rome about 2 months ago and he was a great guy. Really spreading it around his team and loving it. So nothing but love going Schilling's was last night. And what a set of innings. After words he said, "I was done in the fourth inning. But I had to keep pitching." What a stud. Four more innings of greatness. On jack, and he takes himself out giving the Sox's tired bullpen just two innings to pitch.

And that game was full of tension. Umpire meetings, RIOT POLICE. Yankee fans showing their true class. And those last few pitches had my heart pounding. Men on. *Thump Thump* The best thing was when he final swinging strike Foulke walks off the mound and you hear him say to teammates... "Well, I had to make it interesting," sounding seriously relieved.

Both these series have been the best thing to happen to Baseball in forever. If you don't like these series' you don't like baseball. Plain and simple.

Go Sox. And I'm only rooting for Houston because it's possible I'll have series tix. :) Otherwise either one could take it.

But GOOOOOOOOOO SOOOOOOOX!

In other good news, the unkown they've been hunting for forever, has been been found. What unkown? The new Superman. He's been cast and looks good. Look here. What's a step better? Sups 5 takes place after Superman 2. It's as if 3 and 4 never existed. Sups has disappeared after his battle with Zod. (Apparently only 6 years) and Superman Returns.

How awesome is that. Go Sups.

Matt

And now you're moment of Zen. Not really Zen but too interesting......

Interesting PS. Curt Schilling ended up on Jim Rome today and called A-Rod for his little stunt a bush leauger.

I Don't Really Wanna

But I woke up thinking about the Cubs today.

Two big mega-million dollar contracts are up for next year. Sosa has the last year on his contract 17 million. Moises Alou has an option that could be picked up for 11.5 mill. I know my choice....

In the last two years I've been less and less impressed with Sammy at the Cubs. I've been calling him the King of the Meaningless Home Run. He's not a clutch player. He hits solo shots more than anyone I know. Sammy used to have the ability to put the team on his shoulders and carry it off to victory... Sammy now has a battign average of .253.

Alou on the other hand has been a work horse this year. 39 Hr's with 106 RBI's. and batting average on .293. and a 557 slugging precentage. Alou is clutch. Sammy's 32 HR's only bagged him 80 RBI's. 32 of which were him.

Now if Sammy could dig in and find the Sammy of 99 maybe. But Sammy's half the man he used to be.

OH and for the record I'm not BLAMING him for not making the playoffs. (I migthblame the bullpen) but no one else stepped up and scored runs either. I'm just making a point.

The biggest problem, of course, is that $17 million price tag. Would anyone else pick up that salary for Sammy. Maybe not.

With, at least, Ramirez, and hopefully Alou, poised to help this team to once former glory I think the loss of Sosa would not be so great.

Plus it would find us some money to find a decent bullpen, though by the looks of things it would appear most are back next year:

Kent Mercker and Rusch are the only relievers who are free agents, but Rusch is the only one likely to return. An old but new face will be Joe Borowski, who will have the winter to get his shoulder healthy. Mike Remlinger, LaTroy Hawkins and the kids -- Todd Wellemeyer and Jon Leicester -- will be back. Hawkins is signed through 2005 with a club option for 2006. Remlinger is signed through 2005.

So we'll look on to next year, as hopefully the Red Sox will find victory over all. (Course losing last nights game didn't really help.)

Matt

And know you moment of Pez....

Thoughts at the Airport Bar

While I was sitting at the Airport in Dallas/ Fort Worth on my way to get Ryan I jotted down these notes.

I'm a traveler. I'm a good one. I'm usually a pretty good packer thought I probably chose too big a bag for this trip but between xtra shoes for the wedding and the almighty trilogy which had to make the trip the bigger suitcase seemed necessary. But the best thing about being in airports is that you seem important. Especially on a Wednesday. "I'm going somewhere in business. I'm important."

Airports are like a little city. You can get anything you need. Like a good bloody mary. Which I'm drinking now. I'm at the Friday's in Concourse A in Dallas/Fort Worth and if you need a good Bloody Mary ... go there. But you also have clothing stores, book stores, Starbucks (or 4bucks as Seinfeld calls it) even a PGA golf store. Even it all is a little expensive. I'm sure I'm not the first to say that I had the idea for the Movie TERMINAL before the book was even written.

SO I'm sitting here at the Friday's bar and this girl walks up to the bar asking about Tequlia. I'm just enjoying my Brocolii and Cheese soup at 1 pm and she's asking about Tequlia. She decides quickly on Patron and he hands her the shot. NO training wheels. Impressive. "Can you make that a double?"

"That's as much as I can give you in one glass," the bartender replies.

"Just give me another," she says sweetly. And downs her first.

He pours the shot which she quickly downs, scans her credit card and leaves a 5 dollar tip on it. And off she goes.

I wanted to ask for her hand in marriage, but she left before I grew the balls. Ce' lei ve.

As I made my way here I walked at pourposely slow pace. I hunched my shoulders a bit to accentuate my leisurely pace. Meanwhile, people are rushin past me. I get on the moving walkway and slow my pace even firther. I thought it must look odd this who's obviously in no hurry cruising down the moving walk way.

Now I sit in my plane a small 200 seater. All that's missing is a propeller to really scare me.

Matt

Oh and somewhere on the internet, that I don't want to pay to see is the first EP III trailer. There are some lucky bastards out there. Only 219 more days.

Gotta love the Sein

For my birthday Jeff picked me up tix to Jerry Seinfeld. He was live as the Bass Concert Hall here in Austin.

I was crying I was laughing so hard.

Jeff tix to the late show... and that was a good choice. We showed up around 8:30 and saw the early show letting out. Kinda disappointed, the show's only going to be an hour.

Eventually we were let in and Jeff and I found out seats up in the upper upper deck of seats. Jerry appeared to be about the size of a quarter. He had an opening act in Mario Joyner. I've seen him before and he's always had a laugh. He discussed the mid-life crisis. "It's not really a crisis if you work you're way through it. I dated girls half my age and bought a motorcycle for me it's more like a mid-life Christmas."

Then Jerry came out. All new material. Hilarious.

"Did you ever notice how the human body is made to sit down. It folds in half like a chair. And we have a cushion built into our bodies. That's all we do is spend out day going from chair to chair. From home to car to work. Then back. "

"We Evolved this way. We sat like monkey's went to a crouch finally stood and realized we'd gone too far. Let's sit back down."

"Then to the bed which is BETTER then sitting. That's why it has names like King and Queen."

Course this is all missing Sein's brilliant delivery. He ended up going an hour and a half... then came out for some Q&A. He ended, as always, with a Hello Newman. If you've never heard the build-up to the Hello, Newman... it's hilarious.

All and all great night. Gotta love the Sein.

In other news, Ryan's here... that's why I haven't written between entertaining him and playing TIger Woods 2005 we haven't had much time for anything else.

Got stuff planned for next week, I promise it will be chock full of blog goodness.

Matt

And as a moment of Zen... the return of one of our favorite old school video game characters.
