Denmark/Danmark

So I expected to wake up this morning and hear that the USA had a new president. But it looks like Bush will squeak out yet another presidential term. I must say that is truly sad. Being in London with the time difference was a bit odd. I couldn't really watch things unfold like I have in the past. CNN Europe did some pre-coverage which I found very interesting. In polls across Europe they picked Kerry 71% of the time. In a British poll, not only did they not like Bush but only 27% polled had favorable views of Americans in general. I'm guessing the Bush supporters don't care that the whole world hates us? At the top of the list of concerns for Bush supporters were Family Values and Terrorism? Ya think, having more and more people hate us is going to stop terrorism? Maybe that really wasn't a concern? They were more worried that gay people might have the right to get married... thus tearing away the very fabric of our American dream family? Who knows what they were thinking? I did like the fact that only 1 in 10 Washington DC voters went for Bush. What does that have to say? Ok, well I guess I will get off my soap box. I did my part and voted. Thats all I could do.
On other notes, Julie and I went to Copenhagen, Denmark for the weekend. Very lovely city. People are so trusting there. They leave their bikes out on the street...unlocked. People will even leave babies in their baby carriages out on the sidewalk as they shop. I think it's because they have such a good welfare program with an excellent national health care system that the social classes blurr a lot more and everyone feels more equal to everyone else. I guess our so called greatest nation on Earth can't even get together to develop a program to help it's own people. We are off trying to improve other people lives by bombing them. :) Ooops back on my soapbox. Anyhoo, heres some photos from our weekend among the Danes.

A city shot of Copenhagen and a photo of the royal guard doing whatever the royal guards do? I'm guessing they.... guard?

Another city shot plus a photo of Nyhavn- a very cool place to hang out drinking and eating and drinking. Yes, I said drinking twice. :)

A photo of me in some cafe, a photo of Julie squashing a royal guard, and finally a random baby in a carriage sitting on the street waiting for their mom to return.
