And so it starts....

At 3:00am Sunday morning Julie's water burst. Now it's not as bad as it sounds. It didn't flood the house or anything. Furniture did not float out into the streets of London. It was all very small and understated. Needless to say, being beginners and all, we called the hospital to ask, "Ok, what now?" They told us to come in and so ummmm....we did. Julie wasn't having any contractions or anything so they just examined her and the baby. All was fine, but since her "Waters", as they say here, burst they asked us to come back at 8:00am on Monday so they can induce her, if she hadn't already began labor. Having all day to prepare for tomorrows adventure we slept a lot figuring it might be the last time we get to do that for a while. We are now heading back to bed so we can be up and ready to go in the morning. I will keep everyone posted on what happens over the next day or so. For those guessing what the name is... put your final bets in now. It will all be happening very soon....

What the !@#$?

Ok, whats wrong with this picture? Why would the Cubs trade Sammy? I know he has issues but come on... he's an all star outfielder who has something to prove this year. Why would the Cubs trade him for just prospects when they already have to pick up 10 of his 17 million dollar salary this year? Thats just silly. I don't have a good feeling about this....

P.S. No news yet. ;)

Nine over and Nein to go!

Well, as promised, some photos of 9 months pregnant Julie. We took some photos last weekend... these were the test shot ones on the old digital camera. We haven't developed the real ones yet. The first one is a photo of....ummmm Julie sitting there and stuff. The second photo is my attempt at being all autistic.... I mean artistic. In any case, these are probably the last photos I will post of a pregnant Julie. The next ones posted should be of a... well... an unpregnant Julie with dear old baby McEver. So until then.... keep smiling! :)

Time after Time

tick...tick...tick...tock...tick...tock time is just ticking along. Being two weeks away from the birth of your first child can make time pass VERY slowly. It could happen in 3 hours or it could happen in 3 weeks. You just don't know. I guess thats why I am getting a little impatient. Anyhoo, to ease the tension, Julie and I went and saw The Producers last night. Unfortunately Nathan Lanes run ended a few weeks ago but we still got to see Brad Oscar and Lee Evans. It was a great production even though I felt Brad Oscar was trying to be Nathan Lane. I always felt that one of the great things about theatre was that each time you see a play the characters are performed differently. It's always new and interesting. I have never seen Nathan Lane perform in The Producers, but after last night I have a really good idea. We all had a really great time though. Yes, even baby McEver had a grand ole time. During the song "If you got it flaunt it", the baby began to shake it's stuff. Moving all around... it was really very funny. That reminds me... I have another photo of Julie to post but I can't find the camera cable to upload it. I will look for it and post in the coming days. I'm going to sit back down and twiddle my thumbs and.............wait.............just wait. Patiently. ;)

Happy New Year!

Just wanted to pop in and wish everyone a happy new year. I hope none of you drank too much last night.....MATT. I had a little too much myself, but it wasn't one of those pass out in your own puke sort of drunks. I'm all mature now... I have the wherewithal to drink responsibly. Drinking too much these days is just waking up in the middle of the night really thirsty. I know, that doesn't make for any exciting New Years stories and I am sorry for that. But just in case you still think thats exciting heres the story, "I drank a lot of wine, watched fireworks from my living room window, went to bed, got out of bed to get water, went back to bed and then got up to write in my blog." I am such a party animal! Oh well... I hope we all have a wonderful year. Anyone have any cool New Years resolutions? Here's a link for some I might try to stick to. Click here! And so I leave you with a photo of last years big event, my wedding. I figure I should put a really flattering picture of Julie on the blog to offset all of the belly shots I have been subjecting her to. ;) Happy New Year!!
