This time last year I was sitting in my great seats at Wimbledon watching the drizzling rain.... ALL day long!! Here's the blog entry for that great day. CLICK HERE. It was truly sad to let such great seats go to waste. Luckily this year, Julies dad asked me along for TWO days. Even though the weather channel was calling for rain both days I had faith that I would get to see some tennis. And just when I began to think it truly might rain God cleared the skies and said, "Let there be tennis and let it be good." And good it was. On Wednesday we saw Federer beat Gonzalez and Roddick beat Grosjean. Both matches were good but the Roddick match was even better because technically we were guests of Grosjean and got to sit in the players guest section. It's nice to know people that know people. On Thursday we arrived at 1:00pm to watch the women's semi-final matches. Unfortunately, we had a rain delay until 6:00pm at which point they squeezed in one match and moved the other match to another court so we didn't get to see both. We got to see Venus Williams beat Maria Sharapova in a match that echoed grunts back in forth with the hardest hit shots I saw all week. It was a much closer match than the 7-6, 6-1 score would suggest. So, needless to say I was much happier with my Wimbledon experience this year.
On Saturday, while everyone and their dog were watching Live 8. We went to our neighborhood park for a picnic and watch our own concert. Here's a picture from that...

Can you believe we saw him playing in the park? Ok, you must be asking, "Who is that? It could be anyone!" Well, the voice was very distinguishable so without a doubt it was... Elvis Costello. Most excellent. He played for about an hour and a half and then ended with a fireworks show. A pretty good substitute to live 8.
So tomorrow I start my 3D animation course. (Thanks Nikki for the link by the way) I will be pretty busy over the next 12 weeks but I will try and keep up the old blog the best I can. I will also try to update Ella's site... which I am going to attempt to do tonight. So, until next time here's some Wimbledon photos I took on the old point and shoot. I took some photos on my camera but haven't gotten them back yet. Anyhoo.... enjoy!
